On Sunday, June 20 the community gathered to experience the first installation of On the Horizon. Despite gray skies and chilly winds, everyone from families with young children to elders from across the Bay gathered on Ocean Beach. As the waves broke higher and harder along the shore, the artist's goal to remind us that sea levels are rising and pose a threat to our community resonated loudly
"The 16 tubes were at once beautiful in their forms and intimidating when one contemplated the environmental changes they represented. As the tide swept around them, they looked like the ruined columns of a synthetic Atlantis."
